INTRODUCING A 4D FORMAT WITH A 7/10 SECOND SPLIT BETWEEN ALL 4D’S IN THE OPEN DIVISION FOR THE 2013 SBRA FINALS
.
You must be a SBRA Member or Permit Card Holder to compete at any SBRA Jackpots.
I wanted to let everyone know that the 2013 SBRA Finals details are coming together very nicely. We are hoping to have the best finals ever. New 4D format in the Open Division should help bring us into line with the other Barrel Racing Associations in North America. Take a look at the Finals link on the website for all of the information needed to enter and compete at finals.
I will be stepping down as President after this years Finals. I have enjoyed my time on the Board and on the Executive and will stay on as the Past President. So put your thinking caps on and lets get some names for the Presidents position. The Vice-President and Secretary – Treasurer will be staying on in their positions as well as most of the Board Members, so it will not be a complete change over.
Enjoy your season of Barrel Racing and hope to see you at jackpots and the finals.

The objectives of the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association are to promote barrel racing and the development of both the horse and rider through friendly but tough competition, without the necessity of extensive travel. We serve as an educational medium for our members by providing information relative to the sport of barrel racing through printed material and clinics. We promote good horsemanship in the care and handling of our working horses.
The S.B.R.A. is dedicated to giving all individuals, no matter what age, gender or experience, the chance to participate in the sport of barrel racing.
Whether it be just for fun, or as a stepping stone to competing at higher levels, the S.B.R.A. has a place for YOU.
The SBRA was formed in 1991 with membership totaling 52. We started with 1 District and now have 10 Districts in the Province. Our first Finals were held in 1993 with 90 barrel racers competing and now our Finals has over 300 competitors.
We compete using the 3D or 4D System which were introduced by the National Barrel Horse Association. Using this system, everyone has an opportunity to compete and win, even those just starting out in this exciting sport.
We offer both a Youth 3D or 4D Division (16 & under) and an Open 3D or 4D Division. There is also a Pee Wee Division for those 8 & under.
The S. B. R. A. currently has 10 districts throughout the province, each district hosting their own jackpots throughout the year. Members have the opportunity to compete, not only in their own district, but any of the other districts in the province. By competing in 6 jackpots, competitors earn the right to enter and compete in the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association’s Finals.
